The Carroll County Fair returns to Schell Park in Milledgeville from Aug 4, 2026 through Aug 8, 2026.

Fair week brings together the traditions people look forward to all year: livestock and agricultural exhibits, grandstand entertainment, live music, fair food, community competitions, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

August is also your last chance to experience the mainstage summer season at Timber Lake Playhouse near Mount Carroll.

Hands on a Hardbody runs from Aug 7, 2026 through Aug 16, 2026. Later in the month, Timber Lake Playhouse presents The Mermaids from Aug 21, 2026 through Aug 30, 2026. The new musical is part of the Andy Bro New Works Commission and offers audiences the chance to see a world-premiere production created right here in Carroll County.

A theatre day is easy to turn into a complete getaway. Start with breakfast or lunch in Mount Carroll, walk the historic brick streets, browse a local shop, and enjoy dinner before or after the show.
